Janet M Vuillemot (Shepherd), 81, of Bad Axe, MI, passed away peacefully at Huron Medical Care Facility on September 15, 2025. She was born to Frank and Tressa Shepherd (Glasgow) at home on February, 6, 1944.
Janet enjoyed reading, berry picking, and eating at Wendy's. She was a great friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Janet loved visiting and socializing with her family especially around the holidays. If you had the privilege of knowing her you knew her love for animals from dogs to birds. Janet had a memorable laugh and smile. She loved thrifting and garage sales, she couldn't pass up a good deal. Janet worked as a nanny before welcoming her children; in her later years, she worked at Wal Mart before retiring.
Janet survived by her sons, Earl (Pam) Vuillemot of Elkton and Kevin (Justin Moore) Vuillemot of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Doug (Martha) Vuillemot; their children, Jimmy and Joey, Tamra (Samual Tucker) Vuillemot; their children, Franklin, Ayreese, and Adrian, Raymond (Jodi Patrick) Burkhard, and Ti Burkhard; her brother and sister, John Shepherd and Grace (Shepherd) Jock; her son-in-law, Robert Buckhard; several nieces and nephews which include, Pamela (Larry) Collings, Michael (Jodi) Shepherd, Christopher (Lisa) Shepherd, Jason (Laura) Shepherd, Jonathan Shepherd, Michele (Patrick) Kibue, Jeremy (Wendy) Jock, Nathaniel Jock, Ashley (Michael) Mazure, Loretta (Joshua) Mazure, Daniel (Cassandra) Jock and Lillian (Aaron Gehring) Jock; plus 15 great nephews and nieces whom she adored.
Janet was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by her loving daughter, Dawn Lou Buckhard; her parents, Frank and Tressa; two nephews, Joshua and Zachery Jock; and one great niece, Samantha Collings. Also, her sister-in-law, Ann Marie Shepherd; and her special friend, Albert Hewitt.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Huron Medical Care Facility, and Season Change Hospice Care for the exceptional care and comfort she received.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Burial will be in Verona Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
