Paul Stacer Obituary

Paul Edward Stacer, 50, of Ruth, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Paul was born on June 12, 1966, in Harbor Beach, to Calvin and Judy (Wipping) Stacer. He graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1984. He and Keri Essenmacher were united in marriage on Aug. 1, 1987, at Our Lady of Lake Huron in Harbor Beach.
A fifth-generation farmer, Paul farmed the Wipping family farm started by his great-great-grandparents, Johan and Henrietta Wuepping, and he worked as a carpenter for Booms Builders for 14 years. Paul enjoyed time spent with Keri, his family and friends, working with their horses, horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby, listening to 80s hair band music, and helping others. Paul will be remembered for his big smile, his sense of humor and his willingness to put others first.
Paul is survived by his wife, Keri, of Ruth; his parents, Calvin and Judy Stacer of Harbor Beach; his sister, Michelle and wife, Cate, of St. Petersburg, Florida; his brothers, Tom and wife, Michele, of Ruth, Scott and wife, Renee, of Ruth; brother-in-law, Dean Essenmacher and wife, Vicki, of Oxford; sisters-in-law, Dana Faust and husband, David, of Fort Worth, Texas, Kim McCarthy and husband, Patrick, of Dewitt; parents-in-law, Paul and Carol Essenmacher of Lakeland, Florida; niece, Lauren Stacer; and nephews, Braxton and Brayden Faust and Tyler and Mitchell Essenmacher.
Paul also enjoyed time spent and memories made with members of his Beer Club, including wife Keri, Doug and Debbie Roggenbuck, Steve and Mary Booms, Ken and Tracy Hessling, Tony and Lori Roggenbuck, and David and Janis Stein. Among Paul's beloved treasures were their dog Prudence and horses Lydia, Lenny, Roman, Louie, and Doug. Paul also enjoyed riding one of the horses to the annual Mama Ruth Picnic, where he loved to visit with all who stopped by the petting zoo.
Paul was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Mary Wipping, Simon and Louise Stacer, Edward and Lillian Essenmacher, and Domazy and Mae Wrubel.
Paul's commitment to help others and his spirit of life will live on through organ donation through Gift of Life. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory of Bay City. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, St. Anthony's Church, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Friends may gather from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the church.
A gathering for the celebration of Paul's life will be held immediately after the service in Paul's horse pasture at the Stacer residence, where family, friends, neighbors, and all who Paul touched are welcome.
Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
Paul's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the first responders, Chief Anthony Wood, and the outpouring of community support.

I will always remember Paul has a great guy. Keri and Paul were in love form the 1st date. Keep your chin up Keri if you want to talk to someone who has walked in your shoes give Mom a call. I'm not a big pusher of faith but it's times like these that you question why. All you can do is believe there was a reason. Paul was in your life for a long time you'll always love him but God must have greater things for you!.

All I got for ya Keri...

Paul was seriously one of the kindest men I ever knew and met. He always greeted me with a warm smile and firm hand shake. I remember having conversations and he always had a way of making light of a bad situation. His renarks of "gaaaalsh dangit" or just the way he spoke just made him so genuin! Words can't express how sorry I am to hear of his passing! My best wishes and prayers for all his family and friends at this time. Miss you foever but the memories you left will be forever locked within me Paul!
