Richard J. Kucharczyk, 61, of Croswell passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1957 in Bad Axe to Harold and Agnes (Geiger) Kucharczyk. Richard was a 1975 graduate of Ubly High School. He attended Northwood University. He was a union carpenter in Detroit with Local UBC00687. Richard was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars and traveling, especially to the U.P. and the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Richard is survived by four children Eric (Ashley) Read of Cass City, Katelyn Kucharczyk of Bad Axe and Autumn and Aiden Kucharczyk of Centerline; his parents Harold and Agnes Kucharczyk of Ubly; six siblings Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk of Hemlock/Merrill, Gerald (Tammy) Kucharczyk of Evert, Carl Kucharczyk of Ubly, Mary Jane (Keith) Pierson of Minden City, Gloria (Robert Jr.) Trigger of Carsonville, Gary (Renae) Kucharczyk of Minden City; four nieces and two nephews; five great-nieces and one great-nephew. The funeral service for Richard will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Richard's brother, Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery of Parisville. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the service at 5 p.m. Memorials have been requested to the family discretionary fund, care of Eric Read.
