Ronald Joseph Pionk
Ronald Joseph Pionk of Bad Axe, age 79, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at McLaren Thumb Hospital in Bad Axe, after a short illness. Ronald was born on October 17, 1945, to the late Ignatz and Edith (Kappler) Pionk. He was the first child of a family of ten.
He attended Ubly Community schools before marrying the love of his life, Linda Carson on June 28th, 1969 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Pontiac. Linda preceded him in death on March 7, 2021, after 52 years of marriage. Ronald was a very kind, soft spoken man with a very strong work ethic and devotion to his family. Ronald was a very gifted mechanic and carpenter. He thoroughly enjoyed videography of family events, gardening and mowing grass.
Ronald worked his entire career with 45 years of service at Active Industries/ Tower Automotive in Elkton.
Ronald is survived by his two daughters, Christina (Daniel) Lubeski of Ubly, Rhonda (Mark) Chapin of Owendale; and son, Randy (Kim) Pionk of Minden City; five grandchildren, Matthew Lubeski (Rebecca DeGrandt), Megan Lubeski (Jonathon Hanselman), Breydon Pionk, Olivia Chapin and Laken Chapin; great-granddaughter, Randilyn Lubeski; great-grandson, Jack Lubeski; five step-granddaughters, Chelsea Chapin, Courtney Chapin, Tasha Fitch, Ashley Farley (Cody), Samantha House (Jonathon).
Ronald is survived by three brothers, Donald Pionk, Charles (Diane) Pionk, David Pionk; five sisters, Marjorie (Kenneth Bugenski, Shirley (Richard) Cregeur, Janice (Edward) Carson, Diana (Gordon) Kociba, and Gloria Froede (Dave Kozlowsk). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Karl Page, Nicholas Carson, Terry Carson, Larry Carson, Willis Carson; sisters-in-law, Malia Ivey, Sherry (John) Leitch; and also several nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; a son, Corey John Pionk; a brother, Richard Pionk; his in-laws, Willis and Margaret (Page) Carson; brother-in-law, David Carson; and sister-in-law, Colleen Pionk.
Funeral service for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe, at 5 p.m. with Fr. Nate Harburg officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at MacAlpine Funeral Home at 12 to 5 p.m.
Burial to follow in the spring at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Ubly, Michigan.
Memorials in Ronald's name may be given to Thumb Animal Shelter in Elkton.
