Sharon "Sherry" Kramer
Sharon "Sherry" P. Kramer age 66 of Harbor Beach passed away with her family surrounding her in love on October 11, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital due to a lengthy illness.
Sherry was born on August 3, 1958, in Harbor Beach, MI to the late Louis Sr. and Margaret (Murray) Reid.
Sherry married the love of her life, "her Navy boy" Lloyd J Kramer on October 8,1977 in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. Recently marking a milestone of 47 years of marriage. Sherry deeply loved her family and grandchildren.
It was always Sherry's dream to have 12 children. Together Sherry and Lloyd raised their dozen in a house full of love. Sherry's love for children carried on with her children blessing the family with 16 grandchildren plus one on the way. Sherry was like a mother to all of her children's friends and extended family members. She made everyone feel welcomed when they entered her home, taking them along on shopping trips, family get aways or traveling to a lifetime of sporting events to cheer on her favorite athletes. Sherry was known for ringing her cowbell with pride. Sherry was very proud of her Irish heritage which she instilled into her children. She loved the Beach Boys, Abba, Elvis, and dancing to Love will keep us together and Fools Rush In.
During the early years of raising her family she worked at DOT Manufacturing in Deckerville and the Video Dock in Harbor Beach. She really enjoyed milking cows at various local dairies and providing home care to the elderly.
Sherry was an active member of Blue Star Mothers Thumb Chapter 178 serving as Chapter President for many years and a past Michigan Department President. She was active with Purple Heart Auxiliary #1985 in Gaylord where she also had the honor of serving as President. Sherry advocated to establish Blue Star Mother's Day in the state of Michigan, which was passed just this year.
She was a very active member at Our Lake of Lake Huron Catholic Church and School. Member of the Harbor Beach Garden Club and a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Sherry is survived by her husband Lloyd, Children Vanessa (Matt), Marcus (Rachel), Jonathan, Adam (Pamela), Sara (Travis), Sean, Brian (Ashley), Gina (Torrey), Alicia, Kyle (Kayla), Dana (Bradley), Marla (Hunter)
Grandchildren: Mary, Addyson, Lilian, Mason, Reid, Hannah, Wyatt, Brooklyn, Colton, Kierstyn, Andrew, Juliana, William, Ian, Harper, Ivy, and a grandbaby boy due in November.
Siblings: Gwendalyn (Ken) Peyerk, Robert (Linda) Reid, Rita Reid, Joan Maurer and "Special Sister" Lee O'Connor and many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by her Parents Louis Sr. and Margaret (Murray) Reid. Parents in-law Norbert and Roseanna Kramer, Marcus and Helen Kramer, Mary "Mae" Kramer. Siblings and Sibling in Laws Elizabeth and Ray Booms, Louis Reid Jr., Barry Reid, Baby James Reid, Clarann and Roman "Red" Holdwick and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences can be shared with Sherry's family on Wednesday October 16, 2024, from 2 to 8 pm at Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church Holy Name of Mary Parrish, Harbor Beach with Visitation from 10:30 am to the time of service at 11:30 am on Thursday October 17, 2024. Father Kevin Wojciechowski presiding. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI at a later date.
A Rosary/Scripture service will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 7:30 PM.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask to please make donations to Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic School, Blue Star Mothers, or The Family Discretionary fund.
