Ethel Crigger Obituary

MIDDLESBORO — Ethel Mae Crigger, 84, a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father and loving husband, J.C. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.

She was born September 25, 1931 in Ewing, VA to the late Robert Marion Dooley and Mary Hoskins Dooley. She began her walk with the Lord at a young age and joined Mountain View Baptist Church in Ewing, VA, she later joined Northside Baptist Church. She has served her Lord through the church faithfully, until she became ill in 2011 and her health began to decline.

She served as Sunday school teacher, GA Leader, Director of Bible School and sang solos with her beautiful voice. She also sang in the choir or anywhere else she was needed.

She touched many lives through her teaching, her faithful work and continued to touch lives even while in the Middleboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

She never worked outside of her home, but she made sure J.C., her daughter, Arlene and her son, Steven were always taken well care of in the home as well as with activities outside of the home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.C. Crigger; sister, Beatrice Hammac; brothers, Moses Dooley, Arthur Dooley and Marshall Dooley.

She is survived by the following members of her family: devoted son, Steven Crigger of Middlesboro, KY; devoted daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Arlene (Terry) DuPont of Central America and Knoxville, TN.; special grandchildren, Kristi (John) Letsinger of Knoxville, TN, Angela Crigger of Fairborn, OH and Brittany Campbell; precious great grandchildren, Kaylene and Tycen Letsinger both of Knoxville, TN; many special neighbors and a host of nieces nephews, Church Family of Northside Baptist Church and other relatives and friends.

A very special thank you to the staff at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for their excellent care for our loved one. They cared for her as if she were one of their own family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Creech Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Phelps and Rev. Dale Jones presiding. Music will be provided by the Light House Singers.

Interment will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Justin Abbott, Gerald Branum, Mike Idol, Ryan Phelps, Jared Sowders and Josh Yeary. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Ray Ayers, Leland Idol, John Letsinger and Terry DuPont.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Creech Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Northside Baptist Church: 107 Dalewood Rd Middlesboro, KY 40965 ATTN: Janie Sowders. Donations may also be made to Terry and Arlene's ministry in Central America at PO Box 52104 Knoxville, TN 37950. Online condolences and guestbook are available at www.creechfh.com
