James Rowland Obituary
HUBER HEIGHTS — James Rowland, age 85 of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his closest family and friends. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Ewing, VA. James was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was an active member of the Brukner Society of Nature Carvers and the Dayton Carvers Guild.
James is survived by wife, Wanda Rowland, sons, Rick Rowland and wife Vicki, Todd Rowland and wife Mary, three grandchildren, Amy Mullins, Shannon Cole and Chad Rowland, five great-grandchildren, his best friend Marvin Chadwell, and a host of friends.
A private funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel. Burial 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Jones Cemetery. Reece Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Please send donations in memory of James Rowland to Hospice of Dayton Foundation, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420. I am truly saddened at the passing of my grandpa, James Rowland. I want my family to know that he was the kindest, loving, and talented man. We should all consider ourselves lucky to be his family. He knew how to make you feel loved at all times, and was always there for you know matter what. We have tons of memories that we can look back upon, that will bring a smile to our face and laughter and love in our hearts. Whenever you are feeling sad, look at a picture, wood carving, a bird house or simply something in nature and you will know that he's there with you, watching over you with love in his heart and a big smile on his face. Grandpa is in Heaven and no longer in pain. The best is yet to come for him and one day we will all be reunited. James Rowland is a man that will never be forgotten!! I love and miss you very much Grandpa!!!
