TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Vicki Lynn Riggs Maples, age 58, of Tazewell, TN, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born May 23, 1958 to the late Elmer and Daisy Riggs. Vicki was saved at an early age at Lily Grove Baptist Church, and she was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
She loved life, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel. She was also blessed with being very crafty. She always had a smile to share, and always had dinner ready on Sunday where anyone was welcome.
She is survived by the following members of her family, loving husband of 35 years Richard Maples, two loving daughters Rebekah (Shawn) Fuson, and Amanda (Avery) Lawson, children Ritchie Maples, Jamie Maples, and Eva (Ritchie) Bowling, Grandchildren Corey, Tyler, and Elijah Lawson, Brayden and Ava Fuson, Hannah and Cheyenne Bowling, Stephanie Maples, and Kyle Maples, great-grandchildren Levi Bowling, Reagan Littlepage, and Haidyn Maples, brothers Gary (Donna), Eddie (Teresa), and Philip Riggs, sisters Wanda (Keith) Keller, and Carla (Johnny) Mitchell, and her lifelong best friend Connie (Stanley) Lester. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and coworkers.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center for the excellent care they provided. A huge and special thank you to all the prayer warriors that prayed everyday for her.
Funeral services were held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, Tazewell, TN. with Rev. Jimmy Poore and Rev. Jeremy Buchanan presiding. Music provided by The Heavenly Heirs. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Forge Ridge Community, Harrogate TN. Pallbearers were Shawn Fuson, Avery Lawson, Ritchie Maples, Jamie Maples, Ritchie Bowling, Larry Littlepage, and Steven Bell. Family received friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
