Alexander Bozzi Obituary
Alexander "Al" Bozzi, Sr., 73, of Middletown, beloved husband of Debra (Kozlowski) Bozzi, died Friday August 10, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Middletown, son of the late John Bozzi, Sr. and Lena (Grassi) Bozzi. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Standard Knapp as a Mechanical Engineer for 52 years. Al served with the National Guard and was a lifetime member of the Elks. He loved a game of setback or bowling especially tournaments with his team, was an avid outdoorsman and a die-hard Yankees fan. He loved cooking, notably his famous BBQ ribs, and making his own wine. Al will be remembered as an extremely kind man; anyone who knew him was impressed by his strength and character. He truly was one of a kind. Besides his wife Debra, Al is survived by his daughter, Carla Palmer and her husband George of Middletown, son, Alexander Bozzi, Jr. of FL, brother, John Bozzi, Jr. and his wife Gisele of East Hampton, and his adored grandchildren, Alexandria and Jacob Palmer. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Tracy and a sister, Carol Ann. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday (Aug. 17th) at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, Washington St., Middletown. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. Al and I have worked together for the past 8 years and there was never a time that I went to him for help that I didn't walk away learning something. His kind heated and caring personality mixed with wit and humor is something that I will never forget. He will truly and sorely be missed. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend his service but I wish to send my deepest condolences to his family, whom I know he cherished very much.

To Debbie, Al Jr and Carla, so very sorry for your loss. Many years ago, I first met Al and Debbie when I became friends with Al Jr., Max, Marion and Carla in the Portland school system. We also lived in close proximity of each other. I think it's ironic that I then became friends with Al and Debbie through the sport of bowling at Middletown Lanes some 10 to 12 years later. What I'll remember most about Al is how kind and straight forward he was. I wholeheartedly agree he was one of a kind. Our trips to Rutland, VT will never be the same without him. Rest in peace old friend. God Bless.
