Christine Labbe Obituary
The family of Christine (Brookes) Labbe, 63, is sad to announce her passing on December 27th, 2022, after a short illness. Christine was the daughter of Whitney K. Brookes Jr. and the late Merle (Parmelee) Brookes. She was a proud, lifelong resident of Haddam. Christine loved gardening, making baskets, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and was lovingly referred to as "Mrs. Supper" by her family. Christine enjoyed spending time around the fire with her family, boating, and taking many camping trips throughout New England. Some of her happiest days were in her recent new role as grandma to her cherished grandchildren. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She leaves behind her husband Daniel Labbe; children Daniel W. Labbe (Emily), Joseph Labbe (Jenni), Jessica Kuchyt (Kyle); father Whitney K. Brookes Jr.; sisters Sandra Brookes and Leslie Nosal (Joseph); grandchildren, Jack and Jane Labbe and Theodore Kuchyt; and several nieces. Friends are invited to join her family in a celebration of life on January 21st, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the Haddam Firehouse, 439 Saybrook Rd. With our most sincere sympathy to the Labbe family. Chris was a pleasure to work with. She was an avid nature observer and I am very lucky to be the owner of one of her beautiful baskets. The last time I was able to run into her at work, she proudly showed me pictures of her new granddaughter. We talked about how wonderful Christmas would be with all of her grandchildren. It was something she looked forward to very much. May she rest in peace.
