Doug Cox, 72, formerly of Durham, passed away March 7th, after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was a graduate of the CRHS class of '71 and University of Hartford class of '76.
Doug spent the last 40+ years of his life in Colorado, working in sales, playing soccer, golfing and whenever the snow fell, he was skiing. He proudly raised a family modeling love, respect, working hard and being happy. He did everything in life to the best of his ability.
Doug was the son of Hugh and Judy Cox of Durham, who preceded him in death. He was also greeted in death by his in-laws, Marge and Tom; and his sister-in-law, Dianne. He leaves behind life with his wife, Barbara; his sons, Jason (Chantal) and Tyler (Stephanie); and his favorite granddaughter, Emilee. He is also survived by his brothers, Jeff and Bruce (Cheryl); nieces and nephew, Heather (Aaron), Chris (Holly), Morgan and Madison; and great-nieces and nephew, Olivia, Charlotte, Sasha, Giana and Aidan. Doug also said goodbye to his dear friends, Jim, Bill and Mike, who shared a lifetime of memories together. He was a lucky man – so much love in his world.
