H. Pollard Obituary

Rev. H. Patrick Pollard
March 17, 1935 - January 19, 2024
Rev. H. Patrick Pollard, RScF made his transition on January 19, 2024.
Patrick was born in Arima, Trinidad on March 17, 1935, to Angela (Hopkins) Pollard and Wilfred Elliot Pollard. He was the youngest of four, and his mother and father passed away when he was eight and seventeen, respectively.
In 1966 Patrick immigrated to the United States to New York City where he had success in many jobs and ended up in Dallas, TX where he found a Religious Science church. He then moved to California and attended ministerial school, graduating in 1986.
Patrick served as Minister at the Religious Science churches in Yucaipa, Huntington Beach, and Eureka, CA, Albuquerque, NM, and Middletown, CT until retiring 2021.
During his 35 years in the ministry Rev. Patrick was a well-respected and loved member of the greater Science of Mind community. In 2008 at the annual minsters' convocation his peers in the United Clergy of Religious Science bestowed the Living Treasure Award upon him.
Patrick was not just a minster on Sunday mornings. In his daily encounters with people, he constantly reminded them of their unique specialness. Patrick was Love pure and simple. He was the kindest and gentlest of men. He loved life and strove to have a positive impact on each person around him.
When Patrick wasn't working, he loved to sing, and he had a wonderful voice. He enjoyed playing cards and board games, playing tennis, gardening, cooking (he was renowned for his stir-fry, and West Indian chicken) and playing pickleball.
Patrick is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Paul Pollard of Atlanta, GA and Alex Pollard of Tobago. Patrick is survived by his wife Sue Pollard of Higganum, CT, his daughter Lydia Pollard and her husband Kristophe Green of Albuquerque, NM, his sister Yvonne Pollard of Greenwich, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in March with details forthcoming.
In memory of Patrick's loving legacy donations can be made to the CT Center for Spiritual Living at https://www.ctcsl.org/donate, or mail checks to CTCSL, P.O. Box 1261, Middletown, CT 06457.

Patrick was such a wonderful man and Minister. I first met him in Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science. In fact it was his teachings that got me to join the church. His lessons were very direct which is the way I learn best rather in the abstract. Although he passed almost 1 1/2 years ago and I am just seeing this now, I am surely saddened to learn of his passing.

My sympathy to Rev Pollard family. I met the reverend back when I worked at the Rockfall office at the deKoven House. Such an inspirational man with helpful advice and wonderful conversations with him. A donation of $15 has been made to Ct Center for Spiritual Living in Rev. Pollard memory.
