HOWARD LEONARD Obituary

LEONARD, HOWARD "BUD" IIIHoward "Bud" Leonard III said good bye to his loving family at his winter home in North Port, Florida on March 8, 2017, and as usual, they were all by his side. Bud was born in Middletown Connecticut on June 10, 1935 He married his high school sweetheart Lucille Riccardi, and they settled in Portland CT. where they resided for many years. Upon retiring form United Technology as a supervisor in Middletown, CT. Bud and Lucille spent their winters in North Port where they lived many Fun in the Sun years with many visits from family and friends. Bud loved sports, from participating in to coaching, watching his son, grandchildren and great grandchildren play. He loved going to the Daytona 500, the NY Yankees, the NY Giants and U Conn and of course swinging his golf clubs. He will always be remembered by his wife Lucille, and his loving family William (Denise) Leonard; Kathy (Steven) Wells and Susan Leonard. His grandchildren, Patrick (Amy) Leonard; Shannon Leonard; Joshua (Rachel) Wells and Justin (Erin) Wells; great grandchildren Hailee Leonard, Abel Wells, Kaleb Leonard and Aspyn Wells; sister, Elizabeth Cooney. Many "Uncle Bug's "nieces and nephews. His special friends Peggy Lee, Peter and Linda Dykas, Kent and Pat Scully, Butch and Betty Russell and many other dear friends. Last but not least his four legged family, Loving Lunch Lady Lola, Bogsy, Bosley, Maggie and Domino. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Margaret (Cronin) Leonard.A celebration of Bud's Life and love of hot dogs, Bud Light and country music will be held in Portland CT at a later date. See you when we see you! Donations in Bud's memory may be made to Cancer Research Institute, 55 Broad Road, Greenwich, CT 06830

My condolences to the Leonard family. I so enjoyed his visits to my office. We enjoyed speaking about Nascar and our hometown boy, Joey Logano. I will miss our conversations and his visits. He was a special man that will be dearly missed.
