John Meadows Obituary

John "Jay" Meadows
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John "Jay" Lamar Meadows Jr.. Jay left us on August 26, 2024 at Middlesex Hospital. Jay was born on September 22, 1962 in Middletown, CT. He was the first born to John and Patricia Meadows, and grew up to become a man known for his vibrant spirit and unwavering determination. Jay co-founded JF Tool with his brother Frank Meadows in 1984. With his natural talent for sales and his warm, engaging personality, Jay played a pivotal role in driving the company to success. He was well-regarded for his generosity and the meaningful relationships he built with those around him. Jay was a devoted father to five children with his former wife, Rebecca Johnson. He found great joy in spending quality time with family and friends. He shared his love for sports with them, particularly baseball, football and skiing. Jay took pride in teaching his children the values of hard work and integrity. His love for them was boundless. Preceded in death by his father John and his aunt Judy, Jay leaves behind his beloved mother, Patricia, his brother, Frank, and his devoted partner, Tammy Dorfman. He is also survived by his children: Michael Johnson (Jocelyn Belmonte), Shawn Meadows (Samantha Carle), Andrew and Kelly Meadows, Patrick Meadows and Casey Meadows (Jake Levesque). Jay was a proud grandfather to Hailey, Patrick Jr., Blake, Lena, Emma, Lincoln, Theodore, Logan, and Benjamin; all of whom will carry his memory forward. Jay's legacy of kindness and connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will be missed, but the impact he made on his family, friends, and community will endure for generations. A private ceremony was held in Jay's honor.
