John Schaffer Obituary

John Joseph Schaffer
John Joseph Schaffer, 77, husband of the Late Louise Brown Schaffer, passed peacefully from this life, after a brief illness on August 22. He was born October 1, 1947, son of the Late Henry and Josephine ( Messina) Schaffer. John attended St. Sebastian School and Vinal Technical School. He was drafted into the Army and served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam he was in radio communications. John was passionate about salt water fishing , Deep sea and along the shore, every summer he couldn't wait to get out there. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is predecease by his parents and wife Louise and a brothers James Schaffer. He is survived by his stepson Leonard A. Lewis Jr., a step daughter Christine Kellie and her husband Mark. A sister Sanra Schaffer a brother, Joseph Schaffer and sister in law Ruby Brownand many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff at Apple Rehab and Hospice Care for the kindness and care they showed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday afternoon August 29th at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Church, Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown.
Relatives and friends may call at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Friday from 11:30-12:30.
