Julie Hughes Obituary

HUGHES, JULIE B. Julie (Bonvino) Hughes, 93, of Milford, NH and formerly of Middletown, passed away on February 24th at her home. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Connie (Cubeta) Bonvino and had lived in Middletown most of her life. Julie served in U.S. Navy during WWII as an aviation machinist and was an active member of WAVES Association. Later in life, she graduated from Middlesex Community College and attended the University of Florida, Gainesville. She was a member of St. Pius X Church before moving to Florida in 1988. Julie was an avid artist, gardener, enjoyed reading and most of all her family was the center of her life. She is survived by one son, Robert T. Hughes and his wife Kathie of Douglas, MA; one daughter, Ruth H. McGee and her husband Peter of Bedford, NH; three sisters, Mary Amenta of Santa Maria, CA, Helen Woods of Boynton Beach, FL, Doris Dooley of Middletown; four grandchildren, Andrew Hughes and his wife Meghan, Douglas Hughes and his wife Soyna, Whitney Beaulac and her husband Scott, Samantha Rowe and her husband Barry; five great grandchildren, Liliana Hughes, Xaiden Beaulac, Joshua O’Donnell, Shelby Leigh Edwards, and Daniel Rowe; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Bonvino and four sisters, Raffelina Bonvino, Helen Bonvino, Margaret Augeri, and Elizabeth Otfinoski. Funeral services will be held from the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown on Saturday, March 1st at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown, where full military honors will be accorded. Friends may call at the Doolittle Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and in lieu of flowers may make donations in Julie’s memory to the charity of their choice.
