East Lyme- Kevin S. Counter, 56, of East Lyme passed away unexpectedly on July 24th. Kevin was born in Middletown, Connecticut and was the beloved son of Judith Bidwell Counter and the late Edward Counter.
Kevin is survived by his wife Jane and three children Julia, (fiancé Chad Berry), Samuel and Maeve, granddaughter Fiadh Berry, mother Judith Counter, sister Eileen Stirling and her husband Scott, brother Rob Counter and his wife Eva and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, CT. A funeral mass is scheduled at Christ the King Church in Old Lyme, CT at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brian's Healing Hearts and the American Diabetes Association.

I will always remember the boat days we used to have with Uncle Kevin. We would boat to Indian Rock so we could all jump off and I remember being really scared and uncle Kevin made me feel better and I finally built up the confidence to jump off the smaller rock. He was such a good uncle and he was always cracking jokes. I will miss him so much!

Kevin was so welcoming and had such a great presence. We are so happy he became a grandfather and that Fiadh will extend his legacy both in looks and life. Our sincere sympathy to the entire family. Such a great loss. Xo .

Kevin, my brother from another mother. The Wanamaker's refer to Kevin as KevBoat, the times we had on the water were amazing and his love of the Ct. shoreline was infectious. He loved & doted on my children as if they were his own and would do anything for them. God Bless you my friend, I will miss you!
