Art was born in Middletown, on March 5th, 1940, to the late Joseph and Lena Scata of Middletown. Art was predeceased by his beloved wife, Deborah Self Scata, of 35 years and lived many joyous years together in Meriden, CT, before moving to Portland.
He leaves behind his brother, Joe Scata of Rocky Hill, CT, and his sister, Phyllis Sundell, of Portland, CT. He is predeceased by his sister, Connie, and his brother-in-law, Dick Dunn, his brother-in-law, Brian Sundell, and sister-in-law, Linda Scata.
Artie's greatest joy are his daughters, Linda Scata Brown and her husband, Garth of Jamaica, WI, Dyana McCracken of Columbia, SC, Donna Scata and her husband, Paul LeGrand of Lyndonville, VT, and Michelle Pistorino and her husband, Tony of Middletown, CT. Art leaves behind his grandchildren, Rebekah Dagny of Phoenix, AZ, Brianna Treadwell of Dallas, TX, Kyle (Sara) McCracken of Virginia Beach, VA, Jacob McCracken of Columbia, SC, Isaac Lohnes of Manchester, CT, Luke (Shawna) Treadwell of Westford, VT, and Sophia Pistorino and Gianna Pistorino of Middletown, CT. Art also was blessed by great-grandchildren, Harrison and Ella Treadwell of VT, and AJ and Blaze McCracken of VA.

His surviving family also includes his wife's sister, Hope and (Jerry) Damon, of East Hampton, Tony and Nichole Boucino, and great-nephew and niece, Ty and Brenna, all of Madison
Artie was an avid Yankee and Nascar fan and enjoyed a good game of cribbage, bingo and set back with his fellow neighbors at The Atrium the last few years.

Dear Dyana,
My deepest condolences to you, your sisters and family. I´m so sorry for the loss of your Dad! I lost my mother last January on the 1st, as well. I pray for his soul and for you to find comfort in your memories.
Dyana, I still think of you often and I´m sure you still have the greatest happy spirit and smile!

It was sad to read the passing of Artie this morning. I knew Art (that is the name that I knew him by) from playing setback with him at the Rocky Hill Senior Center. He was always pleasant and kind and very easy going. My condolences to Artie's family.
