Patricia Statham Obituary

Patricia Statham
08-15-2025
Patricia Morgan Statham
July 3, 1942 – August 15, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Morgan Statham, who died peacefully at the age of 83 in Mystic, Connecticut, after a long and courageous battle
with Alzheimer's disease.
Patricia was raised in Ledyard, Connecticut, the daughter of Beatrix and Henry Morgan. She grew up on the Morgan family farm, surrounded by her four siblings: Harry Morgan, Janet Mol,
Sheila Hatmaker, and Richard Morgan, who continues to reside at the family farm with his wife, Deborah. Patricia carried the values of family and togetherness throughout her life.
A graduate of the Grace New Haven School of Nursing in 1963, Patricia dedicated her professional life to the service of others. She spent her career at Middlesex Hospital, where she
rose through the ranks to become Senior Vice President of Nursing, retiring in 1996. Known for her strong advocacy on behalf of nurses, her dedication to patient care, and her leadership in expanding hospital services, Patricia made a lasting impact-especially in the maternity ward,
where she helped bring countless children into the world with compassion and care.
She was married to the late John Statham, Jr. for 62 years. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family in Haddam, Connecticut, before later moving to Middletown.
Patricia was a devoted mother to four sons: John Statham and his wife Connie of Mableton, Georgia, Scott Statham of Middletown, Connecticut, Doug Statham of Hampton, New
Hampshire, the late Bruce Statham of Milton, Massachusetts, and his wife Lee. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Bruce, as well as her siblings Harry Morgan and Janet Mol.
Patricia took immense pride in her seven grandchildren: Ty, Hallie, Annie, Samanthia, Callie, Tom, and Julia, cherishing every moment with them and offering unconditional love and
support.
She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and steadfast love. Patricia was deeply committed to her family, her lifelong friendships, and her faith. Her passing leaves a void in the nursing community in Middletown and among her friends and fellow parishioners at South Congregational Church.
A memorial service celebrating Patricia's life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at South Congregational Church, 9 Pleasant St, Middletown, CT 06457. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather and share memories of her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory may be made to The Angel Fund for ALS Research by mailing a check to 649 Main Street, Wakefield, MA 01880, or donating online at

I am so sorry for your family's loss of Pat. I knew her for many years at South Congregational Church. I served on committees with her and just enjoyed her so much. I have had dinner with Pat and John at their house and they will both be missed by so many.

Pat was a great nurse/friend to the nurses at Middlesex Hospital. She treated the nurses with kindness, compassion & fairness from what could be a challenging position. I always looked for her at her church Christmas fair to have a chat & catch up.
My deepest condolences to the entire Statham family. May she rest in peace
