Robert Spack Obituary

Robert Spack
08/24/2025
Robert J. Spack, 82, of East Hampton, beloved husband of Cheryl (Knaus) Spack, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025. Born January 15, 1943, in Middletown. CT, he was the son of the late Bruce and Helen (Gatzen) Spack.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam War. Bob worked most of his life as a salesman in the paint and hardware business and was an active member of the Paint Salesman Association. Bob finished his career doing what he loved. Working at Paul's and Sandy's Too and Ace Hardware, was more than just a job to him, it was an opportunity for him to meet and make long lasting friendships with so many wondering people from his local little town of East Hampton.
Besides his wife, Cheryl, of 55 years, he is survived by his daughter, Heather (Suarez) Spack, and her husband, Erick Suarez, of Marlborough. His son, Brian Spack, and his wife, Shannon Spack, of East Hampton. His three grandchildren, Mackenzie Rosano, Troy Hall Jr., Meaghan Hall. His two step-grandchildren, Leinad Suarez, Erick Suarez Jr., three step-great-grandchildren, as well as extended family such as nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Linda Peters, of Florida.
Some of Bob's loves included NASCAR race day afternoons, quiet mornings on the ocean with a fishing pole in hand and the crack of a bat on a summer evening. Bob took pride in giving his time to the game of baseball and to the kids who played it. He was always fair behind the plate and firm in his calls. As the final inning ends, Bob has called "strike three" one last time and leaves the field with a life well-lived.

Yesterday

Brian...and family...I am saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad...Bob. I first met him in 2001 when I lived across the road from he...and your Mom. He helped in the yard...and always took the time to see if I needed any help with anything. Always with a smile...a sweet greeting...and a Setback tip...the picture of him is how I shall always remember him. May he rest in peace.
