Sheila Ann Spack

SALEM - Sheila Ann Spack, a lifelong resident of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 1, 1943, to the late Glenn Stratton and Dorothy (Bardt) Caldrone, Sheila's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and dedication.
Sheila, was a beacon of warmth and compassion in her community. Her marriage to Glenn Spack on May 26, 2001, was a union of true partnership and mutual respect. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, creating a blended family that included her four children, John (Melissa), Debbie (Scott), Steve (Rebecca), and Bret (Wendy), 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory. Her sister, Georgia (Bill) will also miss her company.
For 32 years, Sheila served as the Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor at the Salem Convalescence Center. Her unwavering work ethic and genuine care for both the staff and residents made her a beloved figure within the center. Sheila's ability to make even the most mundane tasks seem important and valued was a gift to all who knew her.
Sheila and Glenn were married at Emanual Lutheran Church. She was also a contributing member at the Salem Saxon Club.
Those who knew Sheila would describe her as loving and kind, words that only begin to capture the essence of her character. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was infectious. Sheila had a way of making everyone feel special and seen, whether it was through a thoughtful gesture or a listening ear.
Sheila also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time with her family, enjoying the beauty of nature, engaging in heartfelt conversations with friends, and most of all shopping.
Sheila's legacy is one of unwavering love and kindness, attributes that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her spirit, characterized by grace and generosity, will remain a guiding light for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sheila's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the impact of her life will resonate for generations to come. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved parents, three brothers and a sister, and her foster parents, Edward and Suzanne Bailey, in eternal rest.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Sheila's family and friends from 2:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Salem Amvets Post 45 on South Broadway Avenue. All are welcome.
