SALVATORE J. SPADA

1928 - 2016

SPADA, SALVATORE J. Salvatore Spada, 87, of Port Richey, FL, passed away at his residence on April 20, 2016. Sal was born to Vincent and Sebastianna Buchetta Spada in Middletown, CT on July 30, 1928. Besides his parents he is predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He joined the US Army in 1950, serving in the Korean War. Sal was a plumber by trade and worked for 35 years for the State of Connecticut at Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Hospital. After retiring, he moved to Florida with his wife Janice in November of 1996. Sal was a member of the American Legion Post 79, as well as the Aripeka Elks Lodge #2520. Sal is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janice Spada; his children: Debra Melton (Rick) of Lake Alfred, FL, Andrea Branciforte of Rocky Hill, CT, Jennifer Spada of Coventry, CT, Salvatore Spada Jr (Mary) of Middletown, CT, and Jamie Velez (Louie) of East Haddam, CT; siblings Vincent Spada (Karen) of Cromwell, CT, and Mary Flannigan of Durham, CT; stepsons, Steven Morrison of East Hartford, CT, John Morrison of Middletown, CT and James Morrison of Andover, CT; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services for Sal will be held at a later date in Middletown, CT. Memorial Donations may be made in Sal’s name to the American Heart Foundation or the American Kidney Fund.
