It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Sean Michael Mendillo, 49, passed away at his home in Lake George, NY, on April 2, 2025. Sean was a loving father, son, brother, cousin and friend, who will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.
Sean was predeceased by his father, Jack Mendillo. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandra, who was certainly the love of his life, as he bragged about her brilliance and volleyball accomplishments often. He is also survived by his mother, Joanne Kenny Mendillo, and his sisters, Sara Mendillo Patterson (Dylan) and Jackie Kaschel (Paul). Our large Kenny and Mendillo family will miss him immensely.
While Sean lived and worked in Lake George, NY, the past few years, he has always thought of Montauk as home. He often reminisced about his times with his grandfather, Kenny, at East Lake and grandmother, Josephine Kenny, at The Tipperary. And, of course, he loved the harbor and his many Montauk friends he remained in contact with.
After attending Northeastern University, Sean pursued several passions, including commercial and residential real estate and becoming a commercial pilot and instructor. He shared his love of flying with his dearest cousin, Michael, his uncle, Eddie, and others. He was also proud to be involved in Homeland Security, for a time, and his work as an EMT.
Sean was extremely kind-hearted, who listened with his whole heart and was willing to copilot life with whoever needed his help.
A Memorial service will be planned at a later date.
