Sylvia Archer Obituary

Sylvia Archer
Sylvia I. Archer (Foster), nearly 91, passed away October 14, 2025, at the Water's Edge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown, CT, after a long illness and recent complications with COPD. Sylvia was born in Dennysville, Maine, the daughter of the late Vivian Trott and Carleton Foster. She was married to the late Lynn E. Archer for nearly 50 years. Sylvia leaves her son, Gregory Archer and his wife Catherine of Portland; a grandson, Michael Archer and his wife Ashley of Portland and their children William and Emily; a granddaughter, Cheryl Richards and her husband Todd of Waterville, NY, and their children Rylynn and Owen; a brother, Dana Foster and his late wife Mary and their three children; and a brother, Ray Foster and his wife Sarah and their two children. She also leaves behind her loving friend, Edward McGann and his daughters Deborah Bepko and Donna Bellingham. Sylvia was predeceased by her son Terrence D. Archer. Sylvia loved her kitties, gardening, reading, was an avid bird watcher and a super whiz at crossword puzzles, but her most favorite times were spent with her four great-grandchildren. The family offers their most sincere appreciation to all the staff at Water's Edge for their kindness and compassion. Graveside services were private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Protectors of Animals (where Sylvia adopted her last two cats), 144 Main Street, Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118. Website: poainc.org.
