John C. Conlin, 73, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 20,2022. He was born in DeKalb, IL., the son of Helen (Horton) Pedersen.
John served in the US Army from 1969-1971, and worked as a Street Superintendent for the City of DeKalb Public Works Department, where he retired after 30+ years of service. John was also a Free Mason with the DeKalb Masonic Temple #214. He most enjoyed time with his family, mowing the lawn, fishing with friends and vacationing with family at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
John leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Donna Conlin; his daughter Katie Crain (Brett); his son Matthew (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Audrey, Jack, Dylan, and Caleb; half-brother, Jeff Pedersen; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his mother Helen, he was preceded by his father-in-law, Earl Hungerford; mother-in-law, Olive Hungerford; brother, Jim Conlin; and sister, Janet Siebrasse.
A visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4pm - 7pm.

Dear Mrs Conlin and Family. So sorry to hear of John´s passing. I was Highway Commissioner for Dekalb Township for many years and John and I worked very well together with our road duty´s, especially in the winter time. He did a great job and was always reasonable and friendly. He will be missed by many. God bless you and all. Sincerely John Huber
