Not sure what to say?

May 11, 2013

I remember Mike and I throwing hickory nuts at each other while growing up as young boys together as neighbors in DeKalb. The hickory nut was not the only thing that was sharp; so was Mike. Love to all the Heimers and praying for you.

Kathie: Somehow a conversation I had with Julie Gerthoffer turned to my love of football and what a pleasant surprise (then sad shock) to hear she knew you and Dinger.
I asked her if your laugh was the same one I clearly remember from our 2nd floor Carmen Hall days. Fond memories.
My thoughts and prayers remain with you and yours, of a great guy.

The Heinerdinger family is in my thoughts and prayers. If you grew up in DeKalb the "Heimerdinger Family" was part of the sports tradition. There was a very nice article in the Pocatello, Idaho paper. Mike was respected by all. It is an honor to say I knew him. Sincerly, Kathy Lawson Kane (from the Bob and Lois Lawson family)

October 5, 2011

I wanted to send my condolences to the entire Heimerdinger family. I went to high school with Susie and had Mike's Dad as a teacher and coach. Talk about a classy family.
Even though Mike (Dinger) was 4 years older than me, I had the good fortune to play many a baseball summer league game back in 1976-78. I can still see Dinger ( he was a lefthanded hitter) pushing a perfectly placed drag bunt between the pitcher's mound and 1st base against a tough lefthanded pitcher.I also remember people moving their cars behind the rightfield fence after Dinger shattered a car windshield with a long homerun. It was with a sense of pride to follow Mike's coaching career and to say he was from DeKalb.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Heimerdinger family,
Joe Jordan (Former DeKalb Business Products Chief teammate)
