Gerard Riendeau Obituary

Gerard A. Riendeau, 82, of Main Street, Norfolk, formerly of Woonsocket, passed peacefully on October 23, 2013 in Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation, Franklin. He was the beloved husband of Katherine (Cronin) Riendeau. Born in Woonsocket on June 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Adelard and Rose (Massacotte) Riendeau. Gerard was a graduate of Woonsocket Public Schools. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attended a real estate brokerage school and worked as a real estate salesman for many years. He later worked as a storekeeper at Gerry's Gun Shop and Kay's Variety in Woonsocket. Gerard enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Katherine and Gerard spent "a lifetime together in 52 years". In addition to his wife Katherine, Gerard is survived by a son; Brian Riendeau of Norfolk, two daughters; Brenda Montague of Cumberland and Bonnie Riendeau of Phoenix, Arizona, a sister; Hermine Marchand of Woonsocket, four grandchildren; David and Brian Riendeau, Jr, and Elizabeth and Sara Eva Montague, and a great grandson; Jason Riendeau. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass in St. Jude's Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk, MA on Friday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
