Phyllis Cousineau Obituary

MENDON Phyllis G. (Trudel) Cousineau, 71, of Douglas, formerly a longtime Mendon resident, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, after a brief illness. Her husband of 51 years, Normand C. Cousineau, died Jan. 8, 2008. She is survived by two sons, Johnathan F. and his wife, Mary Cousineau, of Mendon, and Christopher C. Cousineau of Douglas; a daughter, Valencia L. and her husband, Scott Wilson, of Hudson, N.H.; four grandchildren, Molly, Ian, Eric and Jason; a brother, Andre Andy Trudel, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., Dec. 5, 1937, she was the daughter of Donat and Laurette (LeBlanc) Trudel, and lived in Douglas for nine months, previously living in Bradenton, Fla., for 22 years. She was a resident of Mendon prior to moving to Florida for 27 years. Mrs. Cousineau was primarily a homemaker and mother, and a ward clerk at Milford-Whitinsville Hospital for 12 years. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School, and studied classical piano in her youth. She enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as golfing and sailing with her husband. She also loved to garden. Cremation will be performed and burial services will take place in Swandale Cemetery in Mendon. A date for a burial and family memorial event will be announced.
