Jon Compton Obituary

Jon Compton, known as the Mayor of Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, Florida, and self proclaimed Brand Ambassador of Alligator Alley Harley Davidson in Sunrise, Florida, went to heaven with unconditional love on the evening of July 12th.

Jon always had cheeks to kiss, hugs to give and souls to save. A true servant of the Lord. Leave behind who you were and come as you are. God is in love with you.

Not only was Jon cool, with his Harley, "Chrome" hair ( like Harley Chrome), cowboy boots, deep baritone voice, and a smoke, he wanted everyone else to feel cool.

Jon taught people that nothing in life matters but your kindness and dreams and to never lose site of either. He was the best man that anyone knew and as selfless as they come. Jon wanted you to shine the brightest and what he saw in you was not what you saw in yourself.

Adventure followed Jon wherever he was and he often said Get Happy, Life is an Adventure! Schemes, dreams, laughs, smiles, hugs, tender hearted love.

He loved and gave everything of himself to everyone because he never wanted anyone to experience hurt like he felt.

Life, church and Harley will never be the same, Jon was 1 of a kind and each of us, his chosen family, are blessed that he chose us to do life with.

I knew Jon for 15 years and considered him a good friend and a great Christian. We shared many laughs and sorrows and blessings and his presence at CBG will be missed by all of us he touched every weekend. He was loved and is at peace and riding his Harley while he welcomes new Christians to heaven

I sang in the choir at CBG for a few years. But before that, he found me because I wore cowboy boots with my sundresses. He liked my many pairs of boots. We became good friends. Shared stories while welcoming folks into the doors of the church. God! I love that man. He experienced pain and loss and grief... and served Jesus because he knew that Jesus was the only reason he could still put one foot in front of another. To God be all the glory. See you soon Jon!

Jon was one of those people you looked forward to hang with, he was always happy to see you, always with a big smile, definitely a beacon of light in the midst of anyone´s storm, I would see him from a distance and already felt good, knowing he would greet me like royalty, give me a big bear hug and show me real love and appreciation, it was an honor serving with him at church and in the prison ministry, riding motorcycles together and learning to become a better man of good character and genuine affection thru his testimony, is one of those people I look forward to see in heaven. Love you brother.
