Richard was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 39 years, Mary (Brewer) Blanchard and is survived by his daughter, Amanda Schroeder, and her husband Christopher; his brother, Alton; and his nephew, Todd.

Richard, my dad, was one of the most patriotic people I've ever met. His support of Veterans and care for his country were matched only by his devotion to family. Dad, you are missed!

Dad, there isn't enough time to list all the many good things about you, but I'll start with your patriotism, your love of family, and support of Veterans. I miss you very much and I'm finding comfort in the thought that you are once again with Mom, who saved your place. I love you!
