Alan Dykstra Obituary

July 19, 1945 - December 19, 2025

Alan Lee Dykstra, age 80, of Onamia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 19, 2025, at Cura in Onamia, following a long struggle after a stroke.

Born on July 19, 1945, in Milbank, South Dakota, Alan was the son of Leslie and Olive Dykstra. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David.

Alan was a well-loved man who lived a full and meaningful life. Steady, hardworking, and devoted to his family, he was deeply proud of the family he helped raise and the life they built together. He showed his love not just through words, but through his presence, his work, and his genuine care for those around him.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marge, and his sons: Gary Nohner, Alan Roger Dykstra, David Nohner, Randy Dykstra, Dennie Nohner, and Gerry Nohner. He is also survived by many grandchildren, as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Alan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Alan's life will be held at the ROC (Rolf Olsen Center) in Onamia on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Friends and family are invited to gather beginning at noon, with a brief service at 1:00 p.m., followed by lunch and time to share stories and fellowship.
