Janice Marie Tramm, of
Mora, Minnesota, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.
Born on September 14, 1943, in Melville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Gerald and Jean (Wathen) Zufall. She spent her early years growing up on a farm in Bird Island before her family moved to Mora in 1953. Janice dedicated herself to her family, helping on the farm, milking cows, and working at The Home Café, which her family owned, fostering a sense of community that would stay with her throughout her life.
She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jade" Tramm and was a mother of seven: Sheila, Michael, Wade, Loni, Danny, Kris, and Debbie. She experienced the joys and challenges of raising a family. Her hard work didn't stop there; she also waitressed, worked in mail service in St. Paul while pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse degree, and worked in healthcare.
Janice found comfort and joy in the simple pleasures of farm life. She loved chopping wood, tending to chickens, and nurturing her beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens. She spent hours picking blackberries and raspberries, canning potatoes and venison, and creating delicious berry jams. She filled her home with warmth through hearty soups, comforting hot dishes, homemade bread, and sweet baked treats. Her family always left her table feeling cared for and nourished.
She had a joyful spirit, whether she was roller-skating, playing with her beloved kittens and dogs, or enjoying scenic rides in the side-by-side to admire the countryside and check on the cows. One of the highlights of her life was playing BINGO, a game she embraced wholeheartedly whenever the opportunity arose.
Janice's relationship with Jade was particularly special. They cherished their moments together, especially their dates to Dairy Queen for banana splits. Their connection deepened and became inseparable over the past few years as they faced health challenges together, demonstrating the power of love and support.
Janice was a remarkable example of the hard-working and compassionate person we all aspire to be, an admirable daughter, spouse, mother, and grandmother. She will be lovingly remembered and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Janice joins her beloved husband, Jade; son, Danny; parents, Gerald and Jean; son-in-law, Mark; daughter, Debbie; grandson, Ricky; and siblings, Sandra (Jim), Ronald (Marlen), Tony, and Harlen in heaven.
She is survived by her daughters: Kris (Bret), Loni, Sheila (Mike), daughter in-law Kathy, sons: Michael (Linda), and Wade (Bailey); grandchildren: Dannille, Natalie, Garrett, Gabe, Tara, Amanda, Shane, Caleb, Seth, Nehemiah, Derek, Tyler, Katelynn, Avery, Brock, Reese, Kerri, Cade, Evelyn, Josie, Jennifer, Rachel, Michael, Braden, Aiden and Whip; great grandchildren: Grandt, Xavier, Koral, Na-Kee, Rydan, Tommy, Mackenzie, Bailey, Rowan, Kaylee, Logan, Callen, Max, Kline, Lucia, Mable, Savanna, Olivia, Evelyn, Eleanora, Kaden, Lane, Amelia, Brenna, Tirzah, Vayah, Miles, Teagen, Bailey, Winter, Kimmy, Cullen and Henry; great great grandchildren: Ayla, Bentley, Lillie, Wynter, Teagan, Bailee and Louie; siblings: Bev, Elaine, Cathy, Rodney and Colleen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
