Wallace "Wally" Tramm

1932 - 2025

Wallace "Wally" R. Tramm, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and lifetime resident of Isle/Wahkon, Minnesota passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 at home with his wife, Carol, and his son, Roger. He was 93 years old.

Wally was born on August 7, 1932 at home in Isle to his parents Walter and Hazel Tramm. He was an electrician for over 60 years, beginning his career with Bergquist Electric and his uncle Harold Forcier, and retiring as Tramm's Electric. During the early years, electricity was just coming into the area, so he also worked a second job as a boiler operator and dryer operator with his dad and brother-in-law at the Isle Coop Creamery. His hobby was his farm, where he raised beef cattle and was a faithful steward to the land. His health and sheer stubbornness allowed him the ability to drive tractor right up until the last 6 months of his life. He was a perfectionist.

Wally married the love of his life, Carol May Oberg on September 28, 1952, and they were able to celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary together this year. He was drafted into the Army on January 1, 1953 and served in Korea until Christmas of 1954. Wally and Carol raised four children: Roger, Diana, Ross, and ShadiAnn, and later welcomed 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Wally loved the children and was a role model for all of them.

Wally is survived by his wife, Carol Tramm; 3 sisters: Donna (Bob) Dobblaire, Judy (Dave) Oslin, and Jean "Micki" (Ron) Tangen; 1 brother, Robert (Mary) Tramm; 4 children: Roger (Karen) Tramm, Diana (Lyle) Skogen, Ross (Pam) Tramm, and ShadiAnn (Keith) Schultz; 12 grandchildren: Corey, Seth, Tyler, Nick, Katie, Stephanie, Jonathan, Ashley, Derek, Victoria, Dain, and Heidi; and 19 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Asher, Tessa, Isaiah, Micah, Isabella, Warren, Ava, Cameron, Zackary, Declan, Evelyn, Liam, Brooklynn, Faith, Colter, Ella, Payton, and Crosby.

He is preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Tramm; parents, Walter and Hazel; 4 sisters: Betty Lou, Marcella, Barbara, Murrel; brother: Gerald "Jade"; his mother- and father-in-law, Helen and Allan Oberg; sister-in-law, Roseann Bostrom; and brother-in-law, David Oberg.

A celebration of Wally's life held on Sunday January 4, 2026 at the Isle Baptist Church in Isle with visitation at 1:00 pm and funeral service at 2:00 pm, with a meal to follow for all. Military honors are being provided by the Isle Honor Guard.

God blessed Wally and his family, and we thank the Lord for that.
