Savannah Austin Obituary

Nazhike-Awaasinookwe, Savannah Austin, age 37, passed away on July 2, 2025. A Visitation was held at 8 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Baadwewidang, District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation. A Funeral Ceremony was held at 10 AM on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Baadwewidang District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation with Baabiitaw officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Burial Grounds. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia.

Nazhike-Awaasinookwe, Savannah Austin was born on January 28, 1988, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Timothy Austin and Roxene Demo. She enjoyed doing her makeup, shopping, especially at thrift stores, watching movies, and binge-watching shows. Savannah loved to cook, listen to her music, and care for animals. She liked to spend her time with family, going to the casino to play slots, socializing, and taking car rides.

Savannah is survived by her children, Gabriel Gahbow, Jr., Jerron Gahbow, Roman Anderson, Jaxson Anderson and Bianca Day; parents, Timothy Austin and Roxene Demo; grandmother, Susanna Schaaf; her sisters, Lanayah Austin, Mariah (Luis Sanchez) Austin; nieces, Madison Sanchez, and Emiliah Sanchez; nephew, Elijah Sanchez; special friend, Dakota; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Savannah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dean and Delores Austin; Leland "Paush" Demo; uncle, Raymond "Toop" Demo; soul mate, Wesley Anderson; and her best friend, Amanda Drumbeater.
