Bernece C. Rice

1925 - 2025

Milton, WI - Bernece C. (Lindvedt) Rice, 12 days short of age 100, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Milton Senior Living. She was born on November 4, 1925, in Vivian, South Dakota, the eighth child of Oscar and Marie (Sletto) Lintvedt's ten children. She married Alvin "Al" Rice in 1945 and they made their home and raised their family in Milton. Al died in1988. Bernece lived in Milton for 80 years. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Mick) Viney; her son Jeff "Shorty" (Julie) Rice; her six grandchildren--Gayle (Tim) Goers; Brett Viney; Brian "BJ" Rice; Ryan (Hailey Ayers) Rice; three great grandchildren-Griffin Viney, Emmeline "Emmy" Goers, and Bennett Goers. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al, her parents and her nine siblings and their spouses - Kora Lindquist, Melvin Lintvedt, Iola Haakenson, Norman Lintvedt, Almina Tanner Haakenson, Delphine Cross Godfrey, Elnora Fulsos DeGoyer, Arline Clapham, and Darrel Lintvedt. She was also preceded in death by Al's parents Mildred and Merle Rice and his siblings and spouses - Arlene (Bill) Powell, Phyllis (Marvin) Schultz, Frank (Beverly) Rice, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Hope Lutheran Church in Milton. Visitation will be 10:00a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00a.m. Burial is in the Milton Junction Cemetery and guests are invited to a luncheon at the church.
