A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2016 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2016. To Jeff and Amy: I am a volunteer with Senior Independence and have called on Joe for more than a year. I feel I know you and your girls, whom I learned were swimmers. Joe shared pictures and we had good visits, the last of which was on December 30th. It was amazing that when I prayed with him, his body grew very still instead of the constant movement. He told me you were up in early December, and I pray that will be a blessing to you. It was my privilege to get to know him, and I extend my sympathy to you. Sorry For your loss. Uncle Joe was always so much fun to be around. He had a great smile and was always so kind. I remember a lot of fun times at the house fishing and skating on the canal.Prays for everyone in the family. Very sorry I couldn't be there. Thinking of you.

May loving memories of your Dad, grandfather & brother bring you peace and comfort.
Joe's inner strength and engaging personality became more and more apparent to those of us who stopped by his room weekly to give him Holy Communion at Dorothy Love.
He was always eager to engage himself with us. We will miss him very much.
Praying that your family will be surrounded by God's comforting love, and filled with the peace that only He can give.
