Violet Albers Obituary

Violet E. Albers age 92 of Minster, Ohio died at 5:15 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Heritage Center, Minster, Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1925 in Minster, Ohio to the late Julius & Anna (Fischer) Meyer. She married Urban J. Albers on November 8, 1947 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2014. She is also survived by children; Ann & Dennis Huelskamp, Botkins, Mark & Mary Agnes Albers, Minster, Marvin Albers & Mary Ann Cotterman, Minster, Sharon & Dallas Coats, Botkins, Lynne & Tim Puthoff, West Milton, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild, sister-in-law; Connie Meyer, Minster, in-laws Cletus & Irene Albers, Ashland, Jeanette Weaver, Minster, Dr. Robert & Viola Albers, Coldwater, Mary Ann Schmitmeyer, Ft. Loramie. She was preceded in death by her brother Julian "Bud" Meyer, sister Wilma Larger, uncle Alex Meyer, Urban's parents William & Teresa (Sherman) Albers & in-laws, Rosemary & Norm Menker, Mary Albers, Robert Weaver, and Roger Schmitmeyer. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. Violet was a homemaker, caregiver, a 4H advisor for 10 years, Farm Bureau of Shelby & Auglaize County and a St. Augustine Parish Monitor for children for 5 years. She also worked for Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Violet was an excellent seamstress and made many riding competition clothes for many children and adults. She was in a ladies card club and loved to read and play solitaire. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma and second mom to many. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 2 from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Monday, July 3. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be made at www.hogenkampfh.com.
