Barbara Hamrick Obituary
She was born on June 23, 1937, near Augusta, to Russell and Dorothy (Crossland) DeJaynes. She was united in marriage to Bill Hamrick on Sept. 5, 1955, in Augusta. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2010.
Barb attended Augusta schools. She was a homemaker and also worked many years at the Keifers' store and Rhodes Market in Augusta. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point.
She is survived by two sons, Bill (Deborah) Hamrick III of Augusta, and Craig (Brenda) Hamrick of Macomb; three granddaughters, Rebecca Hamrick, Emily (Josh) Smith and Tiffany (Isaac) Tanksley; six great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Henry and Ben Smith and Hadley, Colt and Kaylee Tanksley; a brother, Charles (Leota) DeJaynes of Dallas City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother- and sister-in-law, Roy and Joan DeJaynes.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point by Pastor Tom Robbins. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Woodlawn Cemetery Association.
The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta is handling arrangements.
