Becky L. Anderson, 75, of West Burlington passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Becky's life was a true testament to love, faith, and service. Becky was born in Burlington on March 15, 1949, to Wayne and Edith "Sis" (Dunegan) Eccles.
Becky graduated from Burlington High School in 1967. She earned her degree from Truman State University and dedicated 35 years to teaching elementary school in the Burlington School District. Her kindness and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on the community.
Becky was a member of Burlington Baptist Church, and her faith was an anchor throughout her life. Prayer was a constant presence, providing strength and guidance in both joyful and challenging times. Becky's love for crafting led her to create handmade cards for patients at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, and her generous spirit was shown through volunteering regularly at the West Burlington Christian Church Food Pantry.
If a neighbor or a loved one was in need, Becky never hesitated to cook a meal or lend a helping hand.
Becky is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Anderson; her three children, Russell (Amy) Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ryan (Sarah) Anderson of Mason, Ohio, and Rachel (Brian) Goins of Houston, Texas; and her seven cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Isaac, Matthew, Samuel, Lucas, Andrew, and Sydney; sister, Sheree Boyd-Moore and several nieces and nephews.
Becky's greatest joy was spending time with her family, creating fond memories during family vacations, holiday gatherings, and her travels to visit her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, celebrating their milestones and surrounding them with endless encouragement and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved rainbow baby.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Lunning Chapel.
The family kindly requests memorial donations be made to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org) in honor of Becky L. Anderson.
