Beverly A. Johnson, 87, of Burlington died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born on April 8, 1938, in Tripoli, Iowa, she was the daughter of Carl and Lezetta (Dohrman) Struck. On June 2, 1957, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, she married Bruce Johnson. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2003.
Beverly was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and was part of the church's women's group. She also sat on the Friedenheim Community Council. She worked at H&R Block for 34 years before she retired. Beverly loved to collect bells and giraffes. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling on different leagues.
Beverly and Bruce loved to travel across the country together. One of their favorite places to visit was the white sands of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Beverly dearly enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud to be called "Gigi" by all of her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Scott (Linda) Johnson of Kirksville, Missouri, and Pamela (Bobby) Nash of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter-in-law, Becky Johnson of Burlington; six grandchildren, Taylor (Kim) Johnson of Olathe, Kansas, Justin Bohlen of Burlington, Ashley (Josh) Vance of Montgomery City, Missouri, Amber Bohlen of Ely, Ashlie (Jeremy) Reyes of East Moline, Illinois, and Alison (Blane) File of Colona, Illinois; siblings, Larry (Joan) Struck of Tripoli, Iowa, and Sandra (Fred) Hildebrandt of Griswold; and brother-in-law Bill Lange. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Perry Johnson, sister Betty Struck, sister Carla Lange, and brother and sister-in-law Charles (Betty) Struck.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
The visitation for Beverly will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will meet with friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Lunning Chapel, with Pastor Peggy Stott officiating. Inurnment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House.
