Brad Schuler Obituary

Brad Schuler, 55, of Hamilton, Ill., passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Peoria, Ill., at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 25, 1965, in Streator, Ill., to Jerry and Diana (Dodge) Schuler.

He married his wife of 22 years, Jean Bergmeier, in November of 1989.

Brad graduated from Hamilton High School in 1983, then began college at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. He went on to work for his father's company for more than 30 years, beginning work as a salesman and eventually became the vice president. He lived in the Keokuk-Hamilton area most of his life.

Brad always had a love for business and sales. He belonged to a niche business community of selling labeling machines and machine parts to any company that needed labels on their cans or bottles. He worked regularly with companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Perrier, HJ Heinz, Miller Brewing, Coors Brewing, Yuengling Brewing, Fiji Water, and Kraft Foods, among many others. Through the company he was able to travel and meet people from all over the world. He enjoyed scuba diving and has seen the ocean floors and coral reefs in the waters of Australia, Fiji, Florida Keys, and Mexico. He had friends everywhere and shared many stories with everyone he met. Brad was a great storyteller and loved telling jokes; he enjoyed making others laugh.

One of Brad's biggest accomplishments was being a father to three girls. He taught them to work hard for the things you want, but to not take life too seriously. On his final day, he was surrounded by his mother and children, whom he loved and adored more than anything.

He is survived by his mother Diana Schuler of Streator, and his three daughters, Emily Schuler of Eagle, Idaho, and Jenny Schuler and Samantha Schuler of St. Louis. Also surviving are his two sisters, Shelley (Tony) Gallo of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Cherri (Marty) Sedore of Kahoka, Mo., and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Schuler.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family of Brad Schuler.
