Bruce Bartlow Obituary

Bruce D. Bartlow, 78, of Augusta, Ill., passed away unexpectedly at 9:21 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at his home.
He was born on April 15, 1947, in Quincy, to Albert Dale and Bettie Lea (Bunnell) Bartlow. He was united in marriage to Marcia McPherson on June 6, 1970, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowen. She survives.
Bruce was a 1965 graduate of Augusta High School and earned a bachelor of science degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowen.
Bruce was a volunteer driver for the Tri-Village Ambulance Service for several years, former school bus driver for Southeastern School District, and served on the Hancock County Fair Board and the Augusta Farmer's CO-OP Board. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He is survived along with his wife Marcia by two sons; Andrew (Julie) Bartlow of Macomb, Aaron (Brekin) Bartlow of Monticello, a daughter, Kimberly (Bradley) Wolter of Aviston, seven grandchildren, Delaney and Macie Bartlow, Addison, Brenna and Braden Bartlow and Lauren and Blake Wolter, sister, Anne (Peter) Helgesen of Pine Hurst, N.C., mother-in-law Rosalie Hummel, sisters-in-law, Gloria McPherson, Myra (Jim) McMillan, Trina (Andrew) Barlow, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Frank McPherson, and a granddaughter, Morgan Wolter.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Marcus Jauss officiating. There will be no formal visitation but friends and family may view and sign the register book from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Woodlawn Cemetery Association or Farm Rescue.
The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta is handling arrangements.
