Charlotte Clark Obituary

KEOKUK - Charlotte Hope Clark, 83 of Keokuk, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

She was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Trenton, Iowa, the daughter of Virgil and Juanita N. Miller Bonser. Charlotte attended school in Mt. Pleasant and later went on to beauty school in Keokuk, where she also taught classes.

On Feb. 1,1959 Charlotte was united in marriage to Tony Clark, Sr. in Mt. Pleasant. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Tony Clark, Jr. (Mary) of Keokuk, two daughters, Jori Piersee (Blain) of Cameron, Illinois and Tawnya Miller of Keokuk and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Dietrich of Keokuk and JoAnn Scanlan of Montrose, two brothers, Dwayne Bonser (Connie) of Keokuk and Don Bonser (Gail) of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Scanlan and Danny Dietrich.

Charlotte was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Keokuk and was actively involved in the Women's Circle church group. She loved serving her church community and could always be found lending a hand at church dinners or helping wherever she was needed.

Charlotte had a creative spirit and many talents. She loved baking cakes, especially for weddings and special occasions and found joy spending time outdoors tending to her flower gardens. She was a gifted painter who created beautiful paintings and several murals through the years. She also enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and crafting beautiful porcelain dolls. No matter what she was doing, she poured her heart into it.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 18, at First Christian Church in Keokuk with Pastor David Turner officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Saturday at the church with family meeting with friends at that time.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
