Cullen James Sehulster, age 30, passed away Tuesday morning September 2, 2025 near Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He recently moved to Wisconsin, June 2025.
Cullen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jennifer and Thomas Sehulster on October 11, 1994. Cullen has lived in many places, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Crestline California and Roscoe Illinois. He and his family moved to Montana in 2003. He grew up in Whitehall and Butte Montana. He graduated from Butte Central Catholic grade school and Butte High School. Cullen was an athlete and enjoyed all sports, but soccer was his absolute favorite. He was a very good player. Cullen attended MSU Bozeman where he took advantage of all things college and was always up for a good time.
Cullen found his true passion as a heavy equipment operator. He learned everything he could about each piece of equipment . He had a strong work ethic and was very dedicated to the projects at hand. His favorite machine was a dozer, especially the “super big ones”. At the end of the day, he would kick off his boots in the cab, just him, the machine and some good ole music.
Cullen loved the outdoors whether it was fishing from a river side or up in the mountains shooting guns, getting stuck in the mud with one of his trucks, a rodeo or a bonfire with some buddies. Cullen quite recently started attending Milwaukee Brewer baseball games, even buying his own customized authentic Brewers jersey.
Cullen’s time with us was short but he sure did a lot of living in his 30 earthly years.
Cullen was a father to two beautiful children, Coltson Lane and Seeley Faith Sehulster with his girlfriend Kelsey, and bonus children Madisyn and Logan. Cullen was a kid at heart. He’d be right there playing with Hot Wheels, remote control cars and riding in Coltson’s Jeep.
Cullen is survived by his children, Coltson Lane and Seeley Faith. He is further survived by his grandparents Thomas and Patricia Bonness and parents Thomas and Jennifer Sehulster. He leaves behind his brothers Brett, Kaden and Joseph. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also mourn. Blaze, his dog and always a true best friend will miss him for the rest of her days.
Awaiting Cullen in heaven are his brother Kieran Joseph John, his grandparents Joseph and Carmen Sehulster and his uncle Mark Sehulster.
Cullen will be deeply missed and is so very loved.
Service will be Friday September 19, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation starts after 10 am with funeral mass at 11:30 am and burial to follow. There will be a celebration of life following the burial at Copper King Convention Hall.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sehulster family. We enjoyed watching Cullen play soccer with Riley and all his soccer friends here in Butte. The boys had many happy times at our home and on the soccer fields. May memories of him help give you peace.
