Jeffrey A. Rooney, 56, of Montrose, passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Unity Point Health in Rock Island, Ill.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1968, in Keokuk, to Albert and Naomi Brown Rooney. On July 11, 2020, he married Karen Westfall in Montrose.
Jeff worked for 30 years at the Burlington and Keokuk Walmart Stores. He loved raising chickens and sold and delivered eggs to numerous people and various restaurants in the area.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Westfall of Montrose; four children, Cera Rooney of Hamilton, Ill., Mera Rooney of Chatum, Ill., Trentin Rooney of Hamilton, Ill. and Nia Rooney of Chatum, Ill.; five brothers, Robin (Kim) Rooney of Adel, Michael (Louise) Rooney of Montrose, Kurt (Amanda) Rooney of Burlington, Tommy Rooney of Fort Madison and Patrick Rooney of Peru, Ill.; six sisters, Cheryl (Allen) Lindgren of Burlington, Jeri (Mike) Massick of Burlington, Linda Whaley of Fort Madison, Patty (Harold) Wilson of Montrose, Marcie Rooney of Fort Madison, and Rebecca Rooney of Crestview, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; step children, Stephanie Fraise of Donnellson, Melissa Fraise of Panama City, Fla., Dana Andrews of Dalesville, Ala., Lisa Estrada of Montrose and Kyle Fraise of Buma, Texas; 12 step grandchildren and one step great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Connie Pranger; his brother, James Rooney; his nephew, Jamie Huett; and his great nephew, Drake Huett.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4-6 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 10;30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at King-Lynk Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Hardcastle officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted with to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
