John Henry Poggemiller, 89, of Burlington died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, West Burlington.
Son of Albert and Doris Theesfeld Poggemiller. Husband of the late Shirley L. Willem Carter. Graduate of Burlington High School, 1954; 1960 graduate of Burlington Junior College, attended University of Iowa.
U.S. Navy Veteran, USS Vogelsang (DD-862), 1954-58. Retired shipping superintendent, Chittenden and Eastman Furniture.
Survivors: brother, Robert Poggemiller; sister, Arlene Estle; friend, Kelly Wilson; companion, Kelly Rodgers.
Cremation through Prugh Crematory.
No public services. His ashes will be laid to rest next to his wife in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
