Joyce Jacobs Obituary
Joyce was born Feb. 17, 1931, the daughter of Joseph Spencer and Gladys Fern (Christy) Arnold in Keokuk. She graduated from Keokuk High School.
On July 23, 1949, she was united in marriage with Herbert E. "Jake" Jacobs in Keokuk. He preceded her in death in 2004.
In her younger years, Joyce dipped chocolates at her fathers store, Arnold's Candies, in Keokuk. She worked at JC Penney in Keokuk in the 60s and 70s. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Keokuk, where she was baptized. She enjoyed playing pinochle in a card club with her friends from 2014-2023. Joyce was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts for each of her children.
Joyce is survived by her four children: Gary Jacobs of Hamilton, Gail (Mike Buckert) Hartman of Warsaw, Barbara (Kyle) Bawden of Hamilton, and Susan (Jeff) Morgan of Keokuk; grandchildren: Wendy (Josh Hubbard) Simmons, Karl (Michelle Beverage) Bawden, Kasey (Asia Weil) Bawden, Katrina Bawden, Kylene Bawden, Kwade (Katie Gustin) Bawden, Ginnie (Gene) Eisenbach, and Audrey (fiancé, Christian King) Morgan; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Mikayla, Taylor, and Korbin; Emma, Evan, and Eric; and Kyler and Knox; and one great-great-grandchild Jorge III.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Joan Molzhon; and infant brother Kenneth Robert.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Printy Funeral Home, with family meeting friends from 2-3 p.m..
A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton at 3:30 p.m., following the visitation.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Hospital or the Hamilton Fire Department. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
