Marian Dockendorff Obituary

Marian Jean Fisher Dockendorff, 94, of Danville died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Park Place, Mount Pleasant.

She was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Burlington, to Raymond and Ruby Ricketts Fisher. On Jan. 15, 1950, she married Alvin "Jim" Dockendorff in Oquawka, Illinois; he died Feb. 14, 2007.

She was a graduate of Oquawka High School and attended one year of college in Macomb. Marian was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Danville School for ten years. She was a member of Long Creek United Methodist Church where she was a Circle member. She enjoyed reading her Bible; crocheting; and gardening and canning the produce.

Survivors include three children, Ron (Phyllis) Dockendorff of Danville, Debbie (Terry) Lien of Kansas City, Missouri, and Cheryl (Gerald) Lancaster of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother Mike (Sue) Fisher of Oquawka.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Doris Fisher.

The funeral service for Mrs. Dockendorff will be held at Elliott Chapel, New London, on May 28 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Mixon officiating.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with the family greeting friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville.
