Rolla "Bud" Houseal Jr., 86, of Burlington died Monday, Feb. 4, 2025, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mediapolis.
Born April 27, 1938, he was the son of Rolla Sr. and Fannie Houseal. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1959. He married Dorothy Burhop. She preceded him in death June 10, 2024.
Bud managed the Singer Sewing Machine store formerly on Main Street in Burlington. He then worked for J.I. Case, Iowa State Penitentiary and JCPenney.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and construction work, but mostly his passion was caring for his family.
He is survived by his two sons, Brent Houseal of Burlington and Brad Johnson of West Burlington; and grandchildren, Nellabel Houseal and Noah Houseal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, one sister Margaret and three brothers, Richard, Kenneth and John.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Bud will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
