Rosemary D. Budke

1920 - 2025

Rosemary D. (Westfall) Budke, 104, of Fort Madison, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 at her home of 80 years with her children by her side.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1920 in Fort Madison, to Frank and Catherine Decker Westfall. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1938. She married Harold "Lefty" Budke on Feb. 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1999. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She especially enjoyed family vacations to the Ozarks, picnics at Bull Creek and riding pontoon boats. Her hobbies included needlepoint, crocheting, word books, games, texting on her cell phone, reading and feeding wildlife. She loved working at Gaslight Alley and was proud of all her volunteer work. Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Rosemary is survived by two daughters: Cathy (John) McCannon of Wichita, Kan. and Becky (Stewart) Oliver of Downs, Ill.; one son, Steve Budke of Springfield, Ill.; two grandsons: Randy and Jeff McCannon; one grandson- in-law, Mike Florio; one great granddaughter, Chloe Florio and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Nicholas Florio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband a granddaughter, Katie Florio.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church. The funeral mass will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
